Rasputin Music in Berkeley, California held an in-store performance and meet-and-greet for Kendrick Lamar in celebration of his debut album, “good kid, m.A.A.d. city” which dropped in stores and online Monday, October 22. The record store was packed as people from all walks of life came to see him perform and get their CDs, vinyls and clothing apparel signed. Though the performance was rather shorter than I expected it to be, Kendrick did not disappoint as fans rapped in unison to “Money Trees” and “I Am…” One would have thought they were in church with all of the whistling and “PREACHES!” and “AMENS!” that were being shouted throughout the room. Overall, the event was a success and I’m sure that Kendrick left having gained more fans than he arrived with. Check out the little bit of footage that I got below. (I would have recorded more, had I known I wasn’t going to be able to take an actual photo WITH him. Ha. I was trying to save space on my camera.)
